Vincent Yew and I have worked alongside together at Alberta Health Services the past six months. I have thoroughly appreciated my time working with Vincent and have come to know him as a truly valuable asset to not only myself but to the team I lead, as well as, the leadership team which I am a part of. He is passionate, knowledgeable, forward thinking, and challenges me to be the best leader I can be.
His knowledge of how to develop high performance teams, organizational leadership, coaching, and mentorship have been a huge asset to our teams. He has a practical way in which he relays the information he teaches: he teaches through story telling his past experiences; demonstrating the theory and research behind what he is teaching; he uses experiential activities, thus teaching us through doing and most importantly he opens the floor for the participants to share and learn from one another with him guiding the process.
In the short time I have known Vincent, I have come to trust him to share my struggles and my successes. He has become a mentor for me for whom I look up, trust and respect. Any organization would be fortunate to have Vincent join their team, I have no double he would be committed, reliable, trustworthy and more importantly passionate about the work."

Vincent always comes to each course prepared and is very knowledgable in the subject matters that is being presented on during each course. He presents the course material in a way that is relevant and meaningful to the leaders that were in the courses. Vincent allows for great discussions and sharing amongst the people in his classes. He also shares real life experiences that he has had a long the way to add great perspective. When posed with a question, instead of answering the question Vincent often challenges you to think about the question in a completely different way and helps you reach the answers on your own by prompting you with more questions. This particular strategy has helped me so much in my leadership at work.
One thing I appreciate about Vincent is that he is very good at reading the room and knowing how to adapt his teaching style to what the participants wants and need. Sometimes that means following more to scope or an outline or sometimes being less structured but still having the same learning outcomes. AHS is a large organization with leaders from a variety of disciplines attending these courses. Vincent is great at recognizing that each leader comes with their own unique set of challenges and struggles and is wonderful at helping everyone apply the subject matter to themselves and their team no matter how diverse they may be.
I have taken away so much from these courses. I personally have grown so much as a leader from the courses that I attend with Vincent. When I find myself in certain situations, I can often think back to what I learn in his courses and help apply them to the situation or how to provide a different approach.
Vincent is very passionate about his work and always wants to bring the best out in everyone that he is in contact with. Vincent would be a great addition to your team."

Operations Manager
Vincent approaches life with diligent, positive focus life. He is approachable and leads with the mindset that 'Good people make great leaders'. His investment in building great leaders and brief in his students and investment in their success is evident in how he shows up for class and for his coaching clients.
One of the most noticeable pieces of Vincent's work is that he takes a coaching mindset to almost every interaction with those he works with. He finds the objectives and desired outcomes and then facilitates the participant's discovery, ensuring engagement and ownership of the lesson and the material. He is intentional about ensuring that he is providing value and relatable material to those he is coaching and facilitating.
The quality of the education he has personally invested in, both in Masters in Leadership from Royal Roads University, and internationally recognized Coaching through Erickson Coaching International, has prepared him well for the facilitation and teaching at the adult and post-secondary level. His work with AHS as an HR Business Partner, then as Talent Development and Talent Acquisition would make him a valuable asset to your team. He has worked with all levels of leadership here in the North Sector of Alberta, coaching and facilitating which also makes him valuable and experienced when teaching in the Management faculty.
Vincent's pursuit of learning and growth has connected him with coaching people around the world as well as the online world of AHS (over 100,000+ employees). He is more than comfortable and capable of navigating the technology of today's learning environment and those of the future.
I believe Vincent will be a valuable asset to your organization."

Team Leader
Vincent worked together with our team in planning and facilitating a learning event focused on complex problem solving. After working as a team on our issue for almost two years, we knew that we needed more specialized supports in order to move forward. Starting with a model our organization had adopted, Vincent took the time to get to know our team, and our situation, then planned a customized session to meet our needs.
He exceeded my expectations in terms of planning and preparation, through extensive internal and external consultation. He clarified expectations, selected the most appropriate tools and activities based on our discussions and ensured that we were set up to succeed.
During our learning event, Vincent highlighted his role as a facilitator; he would share his knowledge and experiences, and support us in finding a solution that worked for our team. He ensured we moved through out activities on schedule, but also made keen observations based on participants' verbal and nonverbal communication, and adjusted his approach accordingly. He checked in with me throughout the day, and was open to feedback and suggestions.
After the session, Vincent continued to provide support and advice as we worked through the complex problem solving model. He offered suggestions and tools, all backed with rationale that helped us to better understand and believe in the process. When we ran into challenging situations, he offered different perspective that helped us in working towards our goal.
Aside from our team activity, Vincent has also been incredible supportive to me as a Manager. Through sharing his resources and perspectives, he has motivated me to continue with my own professional development, which allows me to better support my team and our clients. He generously gives of his time and knowledge, asking though-provoking questions, offering insightful aberrations and encouraging me to draw on my skills to find solutions.
I would highly recommend Vincent for any position that involves communication, collaboration, or learning. I have connected with a number of Talent Development staff over the past five years, and Vincent has been the most helpful, engaging, supportive Senior Advisor that I've had the pleasure of working with."

Vincent respects each individual he interacts with. He believes in meeting people where they are at and understands the complexity around human behaviours and team function. He listens and then spends time reflecting on issues and situations in order to determine the best way to support them. I have received numerous feedback on the positive impact of his work with many teams.
Vincent is an avid learner, he strongly believes in life-long learning evident in his education and how he continues to seek learning opportunities. He holds a Master's degree in Leadership, is a certified executive coach, and holds a business degree. He is constantly researching for the best practice in his area of work.
Vincent is caring towards his team members, he reaches out to ensure everyone feels welcome and valued. He wants the best for others and will put himself out there to help the team. He has dedicated his time to help our own team building towards higher functioning team and lead us through 'Open Space Technology' which was appreciated by all team members.
I see the potential in Vincent to develop and grow into a strong leader and I do not hesitate to recommend him in any future opportunities he might seek.

Vincent was always prepared for his leadership development sessions, adding in extra steps to ensure the classroom environment was positive and inviting. Vince would use multiple teaching techniques to engage the different learning styles in the room. He would have soft music playing when independent work took place, and sessions were always conducted efficiently. Vince created a safe space where participants felt they could ask questions. Often Vince would stay after sessions discussing course content with curious participants. Most importantly, he was diligent in ensuring the content he delivered was engaging and evidence-informed.
Vincent has proven he can succeed in various HR, teaching, facilitating, and coaching roles through his commitment at AHS and to his coaching clients around the world. Vincent leads by example and his heart focused leadership style is one to be modelled."
